Weather in Sheffield: How long will the heatwave last? Hour-by-hour forecasts as scorching temperatures forecast for the city this weekend
After a rather wet and unstable start to July, we may finally be on the verge of getting the summer we were hoping for, as forecasters predicted a scorching weekend, with good weather expected to drag on into the summer months. See you next week.
Experts predict good and increasingly warm weather with long periods of strong sunshine and very little cloud cover, from today, Friday, through Monday.
The winds will be light and unfortunately the pollen count will be very high, as will the UV levels as the sun warms things up.
Today will see a “beautiful, dry day with lots of sun, generally warmer than Thursday, with light breezes,” according to the Met Office. The good weather should also continue this evening.
Saturday will be “dry with lots of sun and a generally very hot or locally warm feeling with light winds”, Sunday should also be warm.
And the good news is that the warm weather is expected to continue until at least Thursday next week.
As temperatures rise through the late 1920s, here are the full hour-by-hour forecasts for the weekend.
