UK youth to be offered cash, free Uber rides and more
Young people in the UK will be offered cash, free Uber rides, take out, vouchers and movie tickets to encourage them to hurry and get bitten.
Cash, free Uber rides, take-out, vouchers and movie tickets will likely be offered to young people in the UK to encourage them to hurry and get bitten.
Uber is already offering discounts for stung Britons, but no minister is moving forward with plans to force places like nightclubs to apply for vaccine passports to force people to do so.
A cash incentive is also on the table, a minister suggested earlier. Authorities are still looking for new ways to best persuade the 2.8 million young Britons who have not shown up to have their jabs sign up.
Speaking to Times Radio, Universities Minister Michelle Donelan said “there could be an element of government money allocated” to the incentives.
The minister was also asked by Sky News if the UK would follow the US – which offered young people $ 100 to get vaccinated – Donelan replied: “We have looked at various mechanisms to encourage young people.”
“I think the biggest incentive is to protect their own health and that of their friends and relatives, we see young people showing up and getting vaccinated every day, but we will keep everything on the table and look at all the options. to get everyone to get vaccinated.
She added that the public should welcome any kind of initiative that helps more people come forward to get their life-saving vaccines.
Ministers have yet to reveal details of a cash program, or how the British might still get their hands on it, but an announcement is expected soon.
