UK weather charts predict heavy rainfall and thunderstorms ahead of the ’37 ° C heat wave’
These weather maps show intense rainfall and thunder could strike parts of the southwest before the predicted heat wave hits the UK later next month.
Warm air from Africa and Europe could arrive in southern Britain in the second half of July, sending the mercury to around 28 ° C in London.
Temperatures could also reach 25 ° C in parts of the southwest, as the Met Office predicts “very hot or very hot waves” from July 15.

But it’s been two weeks and anything can happen sooner, and WX Charts, which provides international weather data, shows that periods of heavy rain could arrive as early as this weekend.
What the weather maps show
The first graph from WX Charts shows a band of heavy rain heading towards England from the southwest, making Sunday (July 4th) a wash for many.
Large parts of southern England could see patches of rain throughout Sunday into the early evening, with the most intense showers forecast for parts of northern Somerset and Bristol around 9 a.m. on Sunday .
It is expected to remain dry in most parts of England overnight on Sunday, but a new weather system likely to bring heavy and intense rainfall appears to be moving across the south-west of England from 9 a.m. on Monday , according to the graphics.
This will spread across the South West, South and East Midlands, as well as South East Wales and Ireland. WX Charts predicts that the heaviest rains will fall in Southampton and Southern Ireland around 6 p.m. Monday.
What does the Met Office say?
