Uber to hire 250 engineers in Bangalore, Hyderabad
Bengaluru: Mobility company Uber is recruiting nearly 250 engineers for its teams based in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, with the aim of expanding the scope of its engineering and product work in India.
The current hiring cycle will strengthen the company’s growth, delivery, foodservice, digital payments, risk and compliance, infrastructure, ad technology, data, security and finance teams, a Uber said Wednesday.
These roles are currently divided between the technology centers of Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
Uber’s hiring plans are in line with its vision to make mobility and delivery more accessible, and to become the backbone of transportation in more than 10,000 cities around the world.
Manikandan Thangarathnam, Senior Director – Engineering at Uber, said, “Our teams in Hyderabad and Bangalore are working on important global mandates and are at the forefront of various industrial innovations. In order to serve more people across the globe, we are expanding our teams and looking for bright engineering minds so that we can collectively solve mobility and delivery challenges in all of our global markets. ”
Uber has started reaching out to potential candidates to build new teams and complement existing ones, including Uber infrastructure, Eats, Marketplace, Risk and Payments, Uber for Business (U4B), marketing and advertising platforms.
Uber’s technical teams have invested in building technology to enable safer journeys and deliveries to all cities, including enabling mask detection features and updating maps in all countries.
To facilitate more effective social distancing measures, Uber engineers have accelerated digital payments in several countries, and have also used machine learning and artificial intelligence to digitize several parts of Uber’s operations, including l integration of drivers and downloading of digital menus.
