Lancashire Weather: Met Office plans another roasting weekend as the sun continues
Lancashire is set for another weekend of great weather as temperatures remain close to 21C for many.
The region has recently bathed in glorious conditions since the holiday after a terrible May – and this heat wave is expected to continue on Saturday and Sunday.
Temperatures will remain warm, with sunny spells and plenty of sunscreen in order for the weekend.
People will see highs of around 21C on Saturday, with a similar picture for Sunday.
And the warm weather is expected to continue into next week with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures all week.
Monday (June 7) seems to be the only day with a chance of showers.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “After all the isolated fog and clear fog patches, it will be a beautiful day with clear spells [on Saturday].
“The cloud will form throughout the day but will feel nice in the sun.”
Over the past weekend thousands of sun worshipers have flocked to Blackpool and the Lakes. The holiday getaway has also caused long delays on the region’s motorway network.
Heavy traffic is picking up again today on the M6 near Preston and the M61 northbound from Chorley as people look to travel north for the weekend with delays of up to 20 minutes reported.
