Infanta Sofía, 14, gets sweetest surprise on Spanish royal family outing
King Felipe and Queen Letizia visited Santa María del Puerto de Somiedo with their daughters this weekend.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spainthe youngest daughter of, Infanta Sofia, seemed overwhelmed with emotion as she had the sweetest surprise on a family outing on Saturday.
The Spanish royal family visited the small village of Santa María del Puerto de Somiedo, which this year received the award for the exemplary village of Asturias.
After visiting the village and meeting the locals, the King and Queen as well as 14-year-old Sofia and her eldest daughter, Princess Leonor, 15, went to the viewpoint of the national park.

To her surprise, the young princess discovered that the picturesque place was named “Mirador de la Infanta Sofía” (Viewpoint of the Infanta Sofía).
Sofia seemed delighted with this kind gesture and was hugged by her parents as they took in the spectacular views.
During the family visit, King Felipe and his heir apparent, Princess Leonor, delivered speeches. Last week, Leonor returned to Spain for the first time in two months since coming to UK to study.

The Spanish royal family enjoys the view
The teenager is preparing for his international baccalaureate at UWC Atlantic College in Llantwit Major, Wales for the next two years.
UWC Atlantic College is located in 12th century St Donat Castle on the South Wales coast and campus facilities include a library, woods, indoor and outdoor swimming pool and classrooms in historic buildings.
Members of the royal family were treated to a tour of the village
The Spanish royal family have organized a number of engagements together over the past week, including the Princess of Asturias Prize concert in Oviedo, followed by the Princess of Asturias Prize ceremony.
Queen Letizia wowed a black ball gown for the occasion while Leonor was an image of elegance in a ruffled hem print dress from Bgo & Me, and Sofía recycled her mother’s black Varela top, slipping it on. in a pink tulle skirt by Psophía.
