Android 12 will be the last update to the very expensive Sony Xperia 1 III
Sony’s ultra-expensive Xperia 1 III won’t offer much software support. The Dutch branch of the company apparently told a Dutch point of sale that the handset will only get one OS update and two years of security support.
Sony Xperia 1 III will ship with Android 11
The Xperia 1 III features a 6.5-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 21: 9 aspect ratio, and 1644 x 3840 resolution. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip. which is associated with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The phone is 5G compatible, but only sub-6 GHz is supported.
The triple-camera array on the rear includes a dual-lens telephoto lens and the device offers video recording up to 4K / 60p and proprietary dual-phase AF detection and tracking technologies.
